When I pick out clothes, shoes and accessories I go for what I like the look of and hope I can jumble it all together somehow. When I change my hair colour, style and length it’s because I want to look a certain way; a way that I like the idea of.
I don’t do things to appeal to certain people. The idea of that is ghastly, especially if you’re trying to get people to perceive you in a way which is not like your true self.
So, thinking of this, the idea of dressing, doing makeup and acting in a certain manner for the benefit of a male seems so stupid to me. How fickle to pretend you like something in order to get attention from a man. How stupid to profess yourself as a wild party animal when you’re a bookish homebody simply to be liked by silly little boys.
The men could be blamed for egging on the women in this stupid charade, but the women should be clever enough to realise that you should be liked for who you are. Sadly these days it seems a new breed of otherwise-intelligent girls feel the need to conform to a certain ideal to become appealing to guys. Surely the repeated heartbreak and letdowns should make them realise it doesn’t work.
Yet they’ll carry on doing it, which will keep the egos inflated of the idiotic masses. I would much rather have a female compliment me on my clothes/makeup/shoes/hair than be leered at by some hormone-ridden penis-wielder who thinks it’s his sole purpose in life to check out my goodies.
Girl power!
